The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism will hold the first international edition of the gastronomic fair “Peru Mucho Gusto” in Madrid, Spain, from April 11 to 13.
The gastronomic fair “Peru Mucho Gusto” will be presented for the first time abroad with a special edition in Madrid from April 11 to 13. The event, organized by PromPerú and announced by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León, will be held at Ibercaja Delicias, one of the busiest cultural centers in the city and located in one of the key outbound markets for Peruvian tourism.
For three days, attendees will be able to enjoy the most representative flavors of Peruvian cuisine, thanks to the participation of 25 Peruvian restaurants based in Spain. The offer will include classics such as Ceviche, Tiradito, Aji de Gallina, Papa Rellena, Carapulcra, and the ever-present Pollo a la Brasa.
In addition to the gastronomic experience, the fair will have a special area dedicated to export products such as cocoa, coffee, and Andean grains. A 360° Pisco bar will offer tastings and sales of this national drink, accompanied by demonstrative sessions on its elaboration, showing the international public the cultural value and authenticity of Peruvian Pisco. “We want to show the world why Pisco is our flagship drink,” said Minister León.
The event will also offer show cooking areas, spaces for Peruvian art and crafts, as well as entertainment activities designed for the whole family. Under the concept “Flavors with history”. Thus, this edition seeks to promote the best of Peru as a tourist destination through its cuisine
Marca Peru to Peruvian Chefs
As part of the program, the Minister gave the license to use the Marca Peru to renowned Peruvian chefs Arlette Eulert and José del Castillo, who will contribute to the promotion of Peru abroad through their talent and experience.
The official launch was attended by leading figures in the sector such as Ricardo Limo, executive president of PromPerú; chef Flavio Solórzano; José Koechlin, president of Canatur; and other leading figures in Peruvian gastronomy in Spain such as Francesco de Sanctis, Heine Herold, Aldo Yaranga, Palmiro Ocampo and Renzo Miñán.
