We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 7:00 a.m. and head into the Sacred Valley with your guide. From the start, this day is designed to feel clear and relaxed, even though you’ll see some of the best places in the region.
Your first stop is Chinchero, a beautiful Andean town where Inca history and living culture come together. You’ll visit the archaeological site and then meet local artisans at a women-led weaving coop, where you’ll see how wool is spun, dyed with natural plants, and woven by hand. It’s one of the most personal and meaningful cultural stops in the Valley.

Inside, your guide will lead a 2.5 hour guided tour on the best circuit available for your date. You’ll visit the most important areas allowed by your route, viewpoints, terraces, temples, and key structures, while learning the story of how Machu Picchu was built and why it matters. For these travel days, you don’t need to carry all of your luggage. You can store your main bag at your hotel in Cusco, or use TreXperience’s free luggage storage if you prefer.
Just pack a carry-on for the train to Machu Picchu. This bag will also stay with you in the vehicle during the Sacred Valley tour.
Once in Aguas Calientes, you can leave the carry-on at your hotel and go up to Machu Picchu with only a daypack carrying what you need for the guided visit.

Can I add Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?
Yes—if tickets are available for your date. These are separate permits and must be booked in advance. You can add only one extra hike per visit.

What time do we return to Cusco on Day 2?
