What an Absolute AMAZING time we had on the Inca Trail with the TreXperience team!! They really went above and beyond for everything we can think of. From 2 private hot showers for our group of 7 to 2 masseuses to take care of us after a long day of hiking to simply awesome meals - Jose and his team of guides, chefs, porters and massage therapists were all a delight to do this journey with. We had 3 kids ages 9, 11 and 13.. And as soon as the youngest two struggled, they immediately grabbed their backpacks and stayed with them to ensure they're hydrated along the hike. Our beds and tents were super comfortable. They even gave us hot water bladders to keep our feet warm during the cold night. Jose was so knowledgeable in every aspects of the Incas, Machu Pichu and Peru overall. Patiently answering all our questions and really making sure all our needs were taken care of. Just simply Awesome!
View full reviewJJ and Fernando were our tour guides for the trip and were both great. The trip was amazing and they did everything from start to finish to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. They had heaps of knowledge throughout the whole tour along the Inca trail as well as the site of Machu Picchu itself. 5/5
View full reviewReview of the 5-Day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu + Vistadome Train The Salkantay Trek was undoubtedly an impressive adventure, but what truly made this tour extraordinary was the wonderful group of participants and the outstanding team of guides, cooks, and porters. First, I’d like to commend all three guides, who did an outstanding job throughout the tour. On the third day, our group was split up, and we were lucky enough to be accompanied by David. David was simply extraordinary and exceeded our expectations in every way. With his warm personality, sense of humor, and infectious enthusiasm, he made every single day special. He was not just a guide, but a companion, motivator, and friend all at once. With his fascinating stories and the passion with which he spoke about Peru, he truly immersed us in the country’s culture and traditions. David didn’t just lead this tour—he turned it into an unforgettable experience that will stay with us forever. An equally big compliment goes to the cooks. What they accomplished day after day under the demanding conditions along the trek was simply incredible. The quality, variety, and presentation of the meals were at a level that many restaurants can barely match. After hours of hiking, we were surprised every time with fantastic food, and we kept wondering how such dishes were even possible in the middle of the mountains. We were also particularly impressed by the many thoughtful details that went far beyond what we expected. Hot water bottles for the cold nights, a cozy campfire under the starry sky, and marshmallows to roast created unforgettable moments and showed just how much dedication the team puts into caring for its guests. I also have the utmost respect for the porters. Their daily efforts are almost impossible to put into words. They perform grueling physical labor under challenging conditions and yet always ensure that everything runs smoothly. Without their dedication, a tour like this would not be possible. Their hard work, professionalism, and endurance deserve the highest praise. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for this unique experience. For me, the Salkantay Trek was not just a hike, but an adventure full of special encounters, impressive experiences, and unforgettable memories. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
View full reviewAlthough this was a physically demanding trip, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Abe, Wilbur and Alex were patient, kind and caring the food was amazing and the accommodated my vegetarian request, which was really very nice. Thank you for making this ship available.

View full reviewWe researched about 10 different tour companies before booking, including several of the big, well-known names, and chose TreXperience based on the more personal and consistently positive experiences shared by previous travelers. Looking back, it was absolutely the right call. We completed the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail as a party of 4, traveling within a group of 10, and it was nothing short of unforgettable. Our guides, Neil and Fernando, were exceptional from start to finish. Their knowledge of Inca history, Machu Picchu, and the broader Inca civilization was incredible, it was fascinating to learn about the science, medicine, engineering, and cultural achievements of that time on the trail itself. They made the history come alive rather than just reciting facts. A special thank you to both of them for something more personal: my wife struggles with altitude and uphill sections, and Neil and Fernando never made her feel like she was slowing the group down. When it took us longer than expected to get over Dead Woman's Pass, they adjusted the pace and plan without hesitation, staying back with the slower hikers and offering steady encouragement the whole way. That kind of patience and flexibility turned a physically demanding trek into a genuinely positive experience for her, and she was very grateful. Our chef, Santos, deserves huge credit too. We still don't know how he produced restaurant-quality three-course meals every single day, miles into the mountains, some of the most delicious food we tasted in all of Peru came from our trail kitchen. And the porters were nothing short of wonderful, working tirelessly to make the whole trek possible. The trail itself is breathtaking, and arriving at Machu Picchu after four days of hiking was truly magical, a moment we'll never forget. Highly recommend TreXperience to anyone considering the Inca Trail. With a group of 10, you'd think individual care might get lost, but the guides and crew made every single one of us feel looked after. They don't just get you to Machu Picchu, they make the journey itself meaningful. One note for TreXperience: earlier emails gave us the option to pay our remaining balance in person at the Cusco office 48 hours before departure, but closer to the trip the operations manager insisted we pay a full week in advance instead, which led to an unnecessary $95 in transaction fees, money we'd have happily put toward our porters' tips instead. We were also told to bring our own duffel bag, only to learn on arrival that one is provided to each traveler. These were can be fixed with clearer communication from the office, and they didn't take away from what was otherwise a fantastic trip.
View full reviewWe had fantastic service from the Trex experience team-excellent information before the trips, we did the Cusco city tour and the Sacred valley tour, comfortable transport with excellent drivers and our tour guide Willen Elvis was superb, very knowledgable, friendly and informative. Where to even begin? My wife and I decided to celebrate our honeymoon in an alternative way, let's put it that way. We booked the Salkantay Trekking with TreXperience, and it was hands down one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly organized down to the smallest detail—like getting a hot water bottle on our first night at the campsite (when the outside temperature was around -2 to -5°C). The same goes for all the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners prepared by our Chef, Celso, along with Santiago, Bernardo, and the rest of the staff. They even surprised us with a cake when they found out it was our honeymoon, which was completely unexpected and truly beautiful. Let’s talk about the guides: Abelardo, our "captain." An incredibly skilled and knowledgeable person, as well as friendly and humble. It’s impossible not to chat and become friends with him. Alejandro, equally talented and knowledgeable. I have to say he is a wonderful person, our true third travel companion, always by our side helping each other out, talking about everything, and teaching us so much about the Quechua language and culture. Sergio, the kind of person who manages to give you all the confidence and peace of mind you need. Talking to him felt like talking to a deeply loved uncle. He was always right behind us, teaching and explaining so many things—truly a wonderful soul. To wrap it up, the trek itself was gorgeous. We saw landscapes and panoramas we had only ever seen in documentaries, with breathtaking mountains. The altitude made itself felt during the first two days, but it was never a dealbreaker. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure and wanting to connect with beautiful people and cultures. A big hug to our guides and to everyone who shared this journey with us. From the Italian newlyweds, Davide & Loredana
