What Our Travelers Say
Unforgettable journeys leave lasting impressions, and we’re proud to have received over 10,000 reviews from hikers, adventurers, and families who’ve trusted us with their TreXperience. Each review—positive or not—helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve. We truly value this feedback and sincerely thank everyone who’s taken the time to share their experience.
We booked with TreXperience over other operators in part because of how thorough and professional they were in addressing all our questions and how accommodating they were with our requests. For example, they offer good advice on whether to book Circuit-A Machu Picchu Mountain after already hiking the short Inca Trail, and whether to acclimate to the high altitude in Cusco or Ollantaytambo. Their professional advice can't be easily found via Reddit, Google, or AI.In addition, they offer a custom discount if we are going to skip some parts of the tour. I want to especially thank Gabriel for her attentiveness that ultimately sealed the deal. Renato and Alvaro were our tour guides (short Inca Trail, leaving July 8). There are a few highlights worth mentioning. 1. The lunch on the trail after the initial climb was so amazing. The mango ceviche and trout were as good as any food we had in Peru. I ate so much that I didn't care about walking for another 5 kilometers afterward at all. 2. Renato was helpful in trying to reschedule our train to Ollantaytambo. 3. On the second day, the explanation of Machu Picchu's history under the backdrop of the magnificent mountains and citadel was one of the best learning experiences I had in my life. Thank you, Renato, for the great explanation and tirelessly answering all my questions. 4. In addition to being caring and knowledgeable, your guides, Renato and Alvaro, were seasoned cameramen and saved us amazing memories. 5. In the last lunch together, Renato coordinated with the restaurant to give us a dessert to celebrate our honeymoon, which was a very kind gesture. Another thing we like about the tour is that it is only 2D/1N, so it is family and honeymoon friendly. We were happy we didn't do the full 4D/3N version despite that being apparently the more popular choice. In summary, the tour operator was professional, accommodating, knowledgeable, and caring. The tour was amazing, and we were very glad we did it as part of our honeymoon.
View full reviewWe had an amazing Salkantay 5 day track! It was hard but our guides Renato and Raoul made it way easier! They also explained a lot about the Inca history which was really interesting and we laughed a lot. Everything was so well organised, didnt need to think about anything. We even got hot water bottles during our cold night above 4000 meters. The other thing what we really appreciated was the food! The food was amazing (and healthy!) and we kept being suprised how the chefs could make such good quality meals even in remote places. A big shoutout to Eufemio, the other chef assistents, the horsemen and the whole team!

View full reviewReview of the 5-Day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu + Vistadome Train The Salkantay Trek was undoubtedly an impressive adventure, but what truly made this tour extraordinary was the wonderful group of participants and the outstanding team of guides, cooks, and porters. First, I’d like to commend all three guides, who did an outstanding job throughout the tour. On the third day, our group was split up, and we were lucky enough to be accompanied by David. David was simply extraordinary and exceeded our expectations in every way. With his warm personality, sense of humor, and infectious enthusiasm, he made every single day special. He was not just a guide, but a companion, motivator, and friend all at once. With his fascinating stories and the passion with which he spoke about Peru, he truly immersed us in the country’s culture and traditions. David didn’t just lead this tour—he turned it into an unforgettable experience that will stay with us forever. An equally big compliment goes to the cooks. What they accomplished day after day under the demanding conditions along the trek was simply incredible. The quality, variety, and presentation of the meals were at a level that many restaurants can barely match. After hours of hiking, we were surprised every time with fantastic food, and we kept wondering how such dishes were even possible in the middle of the mountains. We were also particularly impressed by the many thoughtful details that went far beyond what we expected. Hot water bottles for the cold nights, a cozy campfire under the starry sky, and marshmallows to roast created unforgettable moments and showed just how much dedication the team puts into caring for its guests. I also have the utmost respect for the porters. Their daily efforts are almost impossible to put into words. They perform grueling physical labor under challenging conditions and yet always ensure that everything runs smoothly. Without their dedication, a tour like this would not be possible. Their hard work, professionalism, and endurance deserve the highest praise. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for this unique experience. For me, the Salkantay Trek was not just a hike, but an adventure full of special encounters, impressive experiences, and unforgettable memories. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

View full reviewThis is a trip that we will never forget! We had an incredible time on our 4-day, 3-night Inca Trail tour, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Elvis and Fernando, were attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. They made us feel well taken care of throughout the trek and were a big part of what made the experience so enjoyable. A special mention also has to go to Balbino and his team for the food. The meals were absolutely incredible! It’s mind-boggling how they were able to prepare such delicious and impressive meals in such limited campsite facilities. We honestly looked forward to every meal after a long day of hiking! The Inca Trail itself was challenging but incredibly rewarding. The breathtaking scenery, the physical challenge, and the amazing support from the porters and everyone in our group made it a truly memorable experience. Reaching Machu Picchu after completing the trail was an incredible feeling. The Cusco City Tour and Sacred Valley were also very informative and enjoyable. Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley on our final day were another highlight. We were definitely tired after completing the Inca Trail, but the spectacular views and the experience of reaching nearly 5,000 metres above sea level made it completely worthwhile! Overall, we highly recommend this tour. From the organization and guides to the food, scenery, and incredible support along the way, everything came together to create an unforgettable adventure. We left with big smiles, wonderful memories, and an experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
View full reviewWe have an absolutely amazing time! Couldn’t recommended trexperience enough. The views on the trek were amazing, as were the locations we were sleeping! The food was incredible, especially considering the remote places that the chefs were managing to create so many different dishes. A special thanks to Juan de Dios who was our guide for being so informative and supportive. His love for the mountains was infectious.

We had such an amazing experience and would thoroughly recommend these operators. I am a 56 year old woman and my husband is in his mid-60s so I was a bit trepidatious about whether I would be fit enough for the trek but our tour guides Willian Elvis, Danilo and Lourdes were fantastic at keeping the pace right for each individual on the expedition- one going quicker with anyone who was fitter and the rest supporting each to go at their own pace so I never felt hurried or slow but always that I could do it. The cooks led by Balvino were incredible preparing a huge variety of different dishes with fresh vegetables and fruits every day- including baking two delicious cakes on our last night together. The porters led by Alfredo were also so impressive- carrying all the kit over such challenging terrain always with a friendly smile and welcoming us into camp with a clap. William was so knowledgeable- we learned so much about the Inca history and Peruvian culture. This is a local ethical company run and delivered by people from the area around Cusco and Machu Picchu and this was the reason I chose to go with them - however it was definitely the right choice because their friendly professional approach made for an unforgettable experience. Together we visited beautiful ruins, saw spectacular views and climbed up and down millions of steps. By the final day we parted as friends.
