Regional Government of Cusco seeks to improve the tourist experience in Machupicchu with modernization of ticket sales and traveling fair
The Cusco Regional Government, through the Technical Secretariat of the Management Unit of the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu- UGM, headed by Mr. Elvis Flores Farfán, current manager of the Gercetur, carried out the third session of the technical committee of the UGM in the district of Santa Teresa with the aim of assuming management commitments to improve the tourist experience in the area.
During the technical table held on Friday, February 22 at the facilities of the District Municipality of Santa Teresa, the members of the committee presented different problems that afflict the tourism sector. One of the most relevant problems was the sale of tickets to national and international tourists to access the llaqta of Machupicchu.
That is why, the majority of the members of the technical committee approved by majority to modernize the system of ticket sales, so they assumed commitments so that in the next technical tables the digitization of this new format of ticket sales is already materialized and in this way guarantee a safe travel and stay experience for tourists.
On the other hand, with the purpose of potentiating the trade of products and promoting safe tourism, the technical table approved to hold the traveling fair "Machupicchu Para Todos" that will have the purpose of providing information on the work carried out by the institutions that make up the UGM, on the good management they execute in the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu, Aimed at all students of the last cycles of Tourism, Archaeology, Anthropology, Professional Associations and the general public, this May 17, 2023, from 10 am, at the facilities of the Cusco Regional Government.
