As 2024 approaches, PromPerú and TurismoIn have shared a detailed analysis of trends expected to shape traveler priorities in 2025. The data shows a projected increase in travel frequency and budgets dedicated to more personalized and comfortable experiences in Peru. The report indicates that 70% of travelers plan to maintain or increase their spending on international flights, while 68% intend to do the same for accommodations. Travelers are willing to invest in enhancements that elevate their experience in Peru, such as:

  • Seat selection on flights: 35%.
  • Travel insurance: 35%.
  • Room upgrades or changes: 29%.

More than 50% of travelers plan to spend significant time in their accommodations, emphasizing the importance of careful selection. The most popular channels for finding accommodations include online travel agencies (18%), search engines (13%), social media (11%), and personal recommendations (7%).

Accommodation priorities for 2025

Travelers are looking for more than just a place to sleep; they want complete experiences within their accommodations. Key features include:

  • Comfortable bedding and pillows: 56%.
  • Panoramic views from the room: 53%.
  • Entertainment access, such as TVs or sound systems: 35%.
  • Other priorities include breakfast options (47%), room size (30%), and airport transfer services (28%).

Technology and the rise of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping how travelers plan and enjoy their trips. According to the report, 78% of travelers are open to using AI tools for activities like:

  • Itinerary planning.
  • Booking flights and accommodations.
  • Interactions during hotel stays.

However, certain services are still preferred when managed by humans, such as:

  • Culinary services: 53%.
  • Bar and mixology: 36%.
  • Spa treatments: 36%.
  • Concierge services: 31%.
  • Room cleaning: 28%.
