Festuris, one of Brazil’s most important tourism fairs, held its 36th edition in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul. The event provided the perfect stage for Promperú to showcase the “Peru Week Brasil” campaign, focusing on boosting travel to Peru and highlighting its cultural and culinary offerings.

The “Peru Week Brasil” campaign features attractive discounts on flights and travel packages to Peru, available until November 22 through the official website Peru Week. The initiative also includes special deals at Peruvian restaurants in Brazil, giving visitors a taste of Peru even before their trip.

Promperú’s stand became a focal point at the fair, drawing the attention of key players in Brazil’s tourism industry. The Peruvian delegation included 79 tour operators, 2 consolidator agencies, 2 airlines, and 49 Peruvian restaurants established across Brazil, showcasing a strong collaborative effort.

Visitors to the stand experienced an immersive journey into Peruvian culture. Live cooking demonstrations featured iconic dishes like ceviche and causa limeña, allowing guests to sample the authentic flavors of Peru. Musical performances added to the experience, taking attendees on a sensory journey through the country’s cultural heritage and Peruvian gastronomy.

Between January and September 2024, Peru welcomed 141,630 Brazilian tourists, reflecting a 54% increase compared to the same period in 2023. These pre-pandemic levels and also position Brazil as the fifth-largest source of tourists to Peru, underscoring its importance for the tourism sector.
