Peru's president announced the launch of an innovative digital system for selling electronic tickets to Machu Picchu, which aims to provide greater transparency and security.
The official launch of a new national system for electronic ticket sales to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, located in the Urubamba province of Cusco, Peru, has been confirmed. This new system, hosted on the National Digital Government Platform, is based on strict controls, guarantees, and accessibility, providing transparent, objective, and secure information to visitors.
The digital platform features four modules: entry control, agencies and reservations, in-person sales, and online sales. These modules enhance controls and validations to optimize sales and access to cultural sites. Additionally, the National Center for Digital Security of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) will oversee and ensure greater information security.
Culture Minister Leslie Urteaga highlighted that the new system, fully managed by the Peruvian state, includes anti-fraud measures and interoperability with the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC) and the National Superintendence of Migrations, ensuring efficient and secure management of cultural heritage.
