Paracas, located in the Pisco province, is gearing up to welcome more than 60,000 visitors for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, solidifying its reputation as one of Peru’s most popular travel destinations.
The town offers a unique combination of beautiful beaches, the National Reserve, the Ballestas Islands, and a seafood-based cuisine that captivates both domestic and international tourists. These attractions and its sunny weather and stunning landscapes make Paracas an exceptional destination.
A key driver of tourism in Paracas is the arrival of international cruise ships. This year, nearly 20 ships visited the area, and projections for 2025 include 30 cruises carrying an average of 3,000 passengers each. These visits generate significant activity in local markets, where visitors experience folklore, handicrafts, and pisco tastings. They also boost the regional economy through tourism services and transportation to nearby attractions like the Ballestas Islands and the Huacachina Oasis.
Cruise operations also mobilize up to 100 buses from Lima, extending the reach of this growing market. Experts estimate that 2025 could close with more than one million visitors if the Pisco International Airport, currently operating at limited capacity, becomes fully functional.
Paracas is also emerging as a premier destination for weddings. Its peaceful environment, favorable weather, and breathtaking sunsets attract more couples to celebrate their special day in this idyllic setting. The town’s proximity to Lima and its high-quality hotel infrastructure provide the perfect conditions to meet the needs of organizers and guests alike.
