The New Lima Airport Will Feature Five Levels of Service

On par with the world’s best airports, the new Jorge Chávez International Airport will feature five differentiated levels of service. Find out here.

Lima Airport currently has over 80% of the construction work and will start operating in 2025.

Designed and built to accommodate 40 million passengers annually, the new terminal will have the following layout across its five levels (four floors and a basement):

Level 4:

  • VIP lounges and protocol lounge
  • National and international VIP lounges
  • Protocol lounge

Level 3:

  • Check-in area
  • Airport tax payment (TUUA) and security check
  • Immigration area (departures)
  • National and international commercial area (360-degree duty-free)

Level 2:

  • Perú Plaza: offering a wide range of commercial and dining options for passengers and the public, with concepts showcasing Peruvian culture
  • Airport tax payment (TUUA) and security check for international connections
  • Seven state-of-the-art scanners for carry-on baggage control

Level 1:

  • National and international arrivals
  • Immigration control
  • Baggage claim area with six automated carousels
  • Control centers to ensure passenger safety throughout the terminal

Spaces for LAP operations

The Informativo Ya lo Chávez—News from Jorge Chávez, published by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), the airport operator in Peru, also highlights that Level 1 will provide access to national and international arrivals (including baggage claim). Level 2 will allow pedestrian access through the boulevard (entry to Perú Plaza and access to Level 3 for departures and Level 1 for arrivals).
