The congress will take place from November 18 to 22, 2024, and will have both national representatives and participants from 10 countries around the world. The goal of the event is to share experiences about tourism work in our country and abroad, focusing on tourism activities.
Luis Martín Quiroz, president of Agotur Nasca, said that the event will aim for a variety of discussions. "That is the most important part. As I mentioned, the topics are not limited to just one direction; it's completely open to all perspectives. We will explore everything, from Afro-Peruvian and African experiences to speleology, archaeology, history, nature, and many other important topics."
There will be a Q&A panel to create a space for dialogue, which will be enriched by the presence of national guides who are part of international communities, allowing for a better flow of knowledge. “The professionals joining us have already been working on large-scale projects both inside and outside the country,” said Dania Vila Poma, president of the National Federation of Official Tourist Guides of Peru.
As the host of the congress, Nasca’s authorities are working together to promote their tourist attractions. This involves the provincial and district municipalities along with the Regional Government of Ica.
The provincial mayor of Nasca, Jorge Bravo Quispe, stated that the area offers more than just its famous lines of Nazca and geoglyphs. Nasca also has other tourist spots, such as the Punta San Juan and San Fernando nature reserves, ceremonial centers, and aqueducts.
During the event, international guides will get to visit the Nasca lines, followed by the aqueducts and other historical and cultural heritage sites in the province. This is part of the congress’s goals and the objectives of local authorities.
