Ica, Peru, celebrates the 2025 Vendimia Festival with wine routes, traditional grape stomping, and cultural events.
From March 5 to 29, the region honors its annual Vendimia Festival, a tribute to the production of cachina, wine, and pisco, highlighting the significance of its viticulture. Each province has planned various activities throughout the month, including festivals, wine routes, and artistic performances.
Key events in Ica
Chincha (March 5-16): The 8th Grape Stomping and Cachina Route brings together eight wineries, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the winemaking process and take part in the traditional grape stomping at Viña Vieja, Viña de Jesús, and La Gota Dorada.
Pisco (March 18-23): The First Vendimia Festival of Pisco and the Third Vendimia Route will feature a cultural parade, tastings, and a viticultural expo in Humay. On March 23, a special artistic event will welcome tourists arriving in Paracas by cruise ship.
Ica (March 7-17): The 60th International Vendimia Festival (FIVI 2025) will showcase grape stomping at the fairground lagar, live performances, and traditional dance competitions. Meanwhile, the 28th Wine Press Route invites visitors to tour five renowned wineries for a full winemaking experience.
Los Aquijes & Palpa:
- Los Aquijes (March 7-11): 3rd Pisco and Wine Route of Aquijeño.
- Palpa (March 6): Grape stomping and pisco tasting at Fundo Chichictara.
Local authorities invite visitors to join the celebration
Gustavo Huerta Escate, Regional Director of Foreign Trade, Tourism, and Handicrafts, emphasized the festival's cultural significance and encouraged travelers to participate. "Ica welcomes you with open arms to celebrate the 2025 Vendimia Festival and learn more about the making of our national drink," he stated.
With a packed agenda, the 2025 Vendimia Festival aims to strengthen the region’s cultural identity and promote wine tourism in Peru.
