The Peru Promotion Commission for Export and Tourism, also called PromPeru, celebrated the last March 13, the fourteen years of Marca Peru with important announcements that will further enhance the country's image in the eyes of the world.
PromPeru organized a lovely ceremony at the Metropolitan Museum of Lima on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of Marca Peru, a distinctive that represents the best of the country worldwide. The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Desilú León, the PromPeru CEO Ricardo Limo, exporters, and other representatives of the country's tourism associations.
The ceremony began with the delivery of the license to use the Marca Peru (trademark) to the Amazonian cumbia group Los Mirlos. This delivery takes place just before the Mirlos travel to the United States for their performance at the prestigious Coachella festival. This recognition situates them as ambassadors of the Peruvian Amazonian sound and contributes to strengthening Peru's presence in the international music scene.
New promotion strategies for 2025
In the same form, PromPeru informed that the Andean country would participate in Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, developed in Japan from April 13 to October 13, under the slogan: “Infinite Possibilities”. In this fair, the country delegation will show the wonderful culture, gastronomy, and new travel destinations in Peru for the current year.
In addition, the internationalization of the Peru Mucho Gusto gastronomic fair was announced through editions to be held in Madrid and New York in the first quarter of the year. Not to mention a third edition to be held in Brazil in the second half of 2025. With these events, PromPeru seeks to strengthen Peru's gastronomic presence in diverse and new markets, such as Brazil.
Furthermore, between May and October, the Peruvian navy vessel B.A.P. Union will begin a new crossing for the Atlantic coast of the United States, the United Kingdom, and North Europe. During its voyage, it will display the Peru Brand on its imposing red sail and will spread the national identity in each port it visits.
At a local level, PromPeru will improve the Marca Peru Licensee Program by incentivizing more people and companies to join in the acquisition of a license to use the brand. This is with the purpose of a greater promotion of Peru at a global level.
