Cleaning of pints of the pre-Hispanic wall of the Puqro sector
The Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco ordered the cleaning of red paints, carried out on the lithic elements that make up the face of the prosecution wall of the pre-Hispanic channel of the Puqro sector, Sapantiana, affecting the original lithic elements components of the channel located in the Archaeological Park of Saqsaywaman.
The paintings were made in an area of 4.50 meters long by 2 meters high approximately, affecting 16 original lithic elements that make up the wall of the Inka era, which was restored and delivered for social use in May 2021.
Surveillance personnel of the aforementioned archaeological park this morning reported the attack against the cultural heritage that would have been perpetrated on the night of Tuesday, April 18.
The incident was reported to the Peruvian National Police, whose members of the Tawantinsuyo Police Station carried out the corresponding proceedings and drew up the police report and report.
After these procedures, the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco ordered the cleaning of these paintings, a process that is in charge of specialized personnel of the physical chemical laboratory of the cultural entity.
The director of the cultural entity, Mgtr. Maritza Rosa Candia regretted the irresponsible behavior of the author or authors of these paintings, which, far from protecting the valuable heritage of our ancestors, threaten the valuable archaeological heritage of the Archaeological Park of Saqsaywaman.
