Record-breaking sales for Machu Picchu: Over 30,000 tickets sold for February

The Ministry of Culture announced a remarkable milestone in ticket reservations for Machu Picchu. Over 30,000 tickets were sold in a single day in February 2025, generating approximately S/3.9 million in revenue. Despite initial technical issues, the demand remained strong, prompting additional measures to enhance visitor support.

On Monday, January 13, the Ministry of Culture opened advance ticket reservations for February 2025 through the official platform tuboleto.cultura.pe Between 9:00 a.m. and midnight, exactly 30,266 tickets were sold, bringing in S/3.867 million for the Peruvian government.

Although there were some technical challenges at the beginning of the process, the high volume of reservations highlighted the ongoing global interest in Peru’s most iconic tourist destination. Authorities have strengthened support channels to ensure a better user experience.

Measures implemented in Cusco

To streamline reservations and provide technical support, the Ministry of Culture expanded its in-person assistance capacity in Cusco by adding two new service counters. Visitors can now access five specialized service points to get help with the official platform.

Reservation schedule for upcoming months

The reservation schedule for tickets to Machu Picchu for the following months is as follows:  

  • March 2025: Tuesday, January 14
  • April 2025: Wednesday, January 15
  • May 2025: Thursday, January 16
  • June 2025: Friday, January 17
  • July 2025: Monday, January 20
  • August to December 2025: Tuesday, January 21
