The Women's Association of Tourism Executives of Peru (AFEET Perú) took a tour of the Wine and Pisco Route in Ica. During the visit, members and board representatives learned more about the cultural and culinary traditions of the region.
The experience started on Friday, September 27. After some initial activities, the group arrived at Hacienda Tacama, the first vineyard in South America. There, they enjoyed wine and pisco while exploring the history and architecture of the site, a symbol of Peru's coastal tradition.
On Saturday, September 28, they visited the Ocongalla and Cantalloc aqueducts, pre-Inca engineering works still in use today. They also toured the Antonini Museum, where they saw a Nasca culture exhibit and the Bisambra aqueduct.
The event concluded on Sunday, September 29, with site inspections of Hotel Las Dunas and Hotel Huarango to review their facilities (rooms, meeting spaces, and more). The final stop was Hacienda La Caravedo, where the group enjoyed a regional lunch and a show of Peruvian paso horses. A pisco tasting was also held, helping the group learn more about the Wine and Pisco Route in Ica and make industry connections.
Participants included agencies and hotels like Setours, Prusia Tours, Green Llama, Restaurante Punta Sal, Girasoles Hotel, Hotel Acuario – Churín, CDV Consultores, Centro de Reservaciones S.A., and Viracocha Turismo Internacional S.A.
In a social media post, AFEET reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening tourism in Peru and highlighted wine products as a source of national pride. Through activities like this, they promote collaboration among women executives in the industry while showcasing iconic routes like Ica’s.
