Peruvian cuisine continues to rise globally, with standout restaurants featured in "The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024" ranking. The restaurant Mérito, led by Venezuelan chef Juan Luis Martínez in Lima, masterfully fuses the flavors of Venezuela and Peru, placing it between the 51st and 100th places on the prestigious list of "The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024". This space, located in the Barranco neighborhood, stands out for its cozy atmosphere and innovative menu that changes periodically, offering dishes such as yucca root quesadilla and scallop tiradito.

Another Peruvian restaurant that shines in the ranking is Mil, located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, near the ruins of Moray in Cusco. This restaurant, run by renowned chef Virgilio Martinez, ranks 55th. Mil sources exclusively local ingredients, grown in collaboration with indigenous communities, which translates into an eight-course tasting menu that celebrates Andean biodiversity.

Mil offers a unique experience called Inmersión Mundo Mil, providing guests with a full day of gastronomic and cultural exploration. This includes guided tours of the Moray circular terraces, visits to cultivation fields, and community sustainability projects. This focus on connecting with the environment and local traditions highlights Peruvian cuisine's ability to innovate while honoring its roots.
