To encourage domestic tourism and boost the economy, Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has launched the campaign “Travel to Enjoy, Travel to Reactivate.” In preparation for the upcoming long weekend (Friday to Monday, 9th), Mincetur presents a range of affordable travel options to explore Peru’s cultural and natural richness.
To reach 43.5 million visits to domestic destinations, Mincetur recommends exploring internationally recognized tourist attractions. Through PromPerú’s platform “¿Y Tú Qué Planes?”, travelers can find weekend getaway packages ranging from S/199 to S/659.
Highlighted options on the platform include:
- Huancaya (Lima): A stunning destination with breathtaking lagoons and waterfalls.
- Leymebamba (Amazonas): Known for its museum and the archaeological treasures of the Chachapoyas.
- Pueblo de Maras (Cusco): Famous for its salt mines and unique views of the Sacred Valley.
- Quinua (Ayacucho): Renowned for its ceramics and historical importance as the site of the Battle of Ayacucho.
- Sibayo (Arequipa): A charming destination that offers authentic rural community tourism experiences.
