Máncora Hosts International Tourists as Cruise Ships Arrive

This visit sets an important example for the tourism industry, as it opens new chances to attract more cruise ships and add more destinations in the country. It will also strengthen local tourism and help grow the economy in the north.

Last Friday, the "FRAM" arrived with 60 passengers, and on Saturday, the "ROALD AMUNDSEN" arrived with 190 people on board, both from Norway. During their visit, the tourists took part in ceviche-making classes, watched whales, and explored the beaches of Piura.

The next stop for these cruise ships will be the port of Callao, where they expect even more tourists. The ministry, along with the Tourism Police and the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards (DICAPI), is working to strengthen this new way of bringing tourists to Peru.

With the help of operators and other people in the sector, they aim to restart the economy, create jobs, and improve Peru’s image abroad.
