Thanks to exquisite Peruvian food, Peru was included in the “Best Countries for Food” category of the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards from Condé Nast Traveller United Kingdom, one of the most relevant distinctions in the international tourism industry, according to the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (Promperu).
In this edition, nearly two hundred thousand readers from the United Kingdom shared their travel experiences and selected the most outstanding destinations, hotels, airlines, and activities on the planet. The results will be published in the November issue of the magazine, regarded as one of the most influential in the tourism and hospitality field worldwide.
This recognition reaffirms the country’s leadership as a culinary destination, the result of a wide range of ingredients, the creativity of its chefs, and the meeting of traditions that make its cuisine one of the most admired on the planet. From ceviches and anticuchos to contemporary fine dining, Peruvian cuisine continues to win over diners and strengthen its international presence; Peruvian food stands out as a favorite among travelers from many places.
According to the United Kingdom Tourist Profile prepared by Promperu, ninety-nine percent of British visitors take part in activities related to local food, with special interest in visits to regional restaurants, market tours, and tastings of organic products.

Promperu also promotes the country’s cuisine through the international strategy “Perú, Mucho Gusto” which in 2025 held successful editions in Madrid and New York. The next edition will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, strengthening the reach of Peruvian cuisine abroad and expanding the presence of Peruvian food among new audiences.
