Three Peruvian artisan companies earned the "Ethical Style by Ambiente" recognition at Ambiente 2025 in Germany. Backed by Mincetur, the national delegation showcased Peru's rich craftsmanship at one of the industry's most prestigious events, highlighting the country’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Peruvian artisan continues to gain international recognition. At Ambiente 2025, held from February 7 to 11 in Germany, eleven Peruvian companies participated under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur). Three companies stood out, earning the prestigious “Ethical Style by Ambiente” distinction for their excellence in sustainability, social responsibility, and efficient resource use.
Awarded Peruvian artisan companies
A panel of experts in design and sustainability assessed the companies' production practices, focusing on criteria aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The recognized companies include:
- Textialpaca Perú – Specializing in alpaca fiber products, blending tradition with environmental responsibility in every piece.
- Sumaq Qara S.A.C. (Ayacucho) – Known for its decorative and textile craftsmanship, preserving ancestral techniques with a sustainable approach.
- R. Berrocal S.A.C. – Exporting decorative items inspired by Peru’s rich folk art traditions.
Additionally, Sumaq Qara and Textialpaca were selected for the 2025 Trends Exhibition, joining an exclusive group of brands shaping the future of international design.
Alongside the participating companies, four Centers for Technological Innovation in Handicrafts and Tourism (CITE) also represented Peru. These institutions, selected through a public competition, came from Lima, Amazonas, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Puno, and Piura and play a key role in modernizing the country’s artisanal sector.
Through its participation in Ambiente 2025, Mincetur reinforces its commitment to positioning Peruvian artisan in global markets, ensuring that Peru’s cultural heritage and sustainable practices continue to gain international recognition at one of the world's most influential trade fairs.
