Peru is preparing to shine at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2025 in Madrid, showcasing its rich cultural diversity, natural wonders, and commitment to sustainable practices. One of the biggest highlights of this edition will be the Inti Raymi celebration, which will bring this iconic Andean festival to Europe for the first time.
As part of its tourism promotion strategy, PROMPERÚ will participate in FITUR 2025, which will take place from January 22 to 26 in Madrid. This is one of the most important global events in the tourism industry. A delegation of 30 Peruvian tourism companies will join forces to captivate international audiences and industry leaders with an offer that highlights Peru's cultural heritage, biodiversity, and adventure experiences.
The European debut of Inti Raymi, a spectacular reenactment of the Incan sun festival traditionally held in Cusco, will be one of the key attractions. This performance aims to introduce a wider audience to the essence of the Andean worldview and its deep-rooted traditions. Throughout the five-day event, the Peruvian pavilion will feature:
- Live artistic performances, showcasing traditional dances and music from various regions of the country.
- An exhibition of traditional attire, highlighting the identity and craftsmanship of local communities.
- Gastronomic tastings, offering iconic dishes and native products such as coffee, chocolate, and pisco, celebrating Peru’s diverse Peruvian gastronomy.
- Interactive experiences, emphasizing the country’s incredible biodiversity and its nature and adventure tourism opportunities, with a strong focus on sustainability in line with global travel trends.
Peru’s presence at FITUR will also highlight its commitment to responsible tourism, prioritizing ecosystem conservation, and promoting authentic experiences that benefit local communities.
The event provides a key platform to strengthen strategic alliances, attract investment, and position Peru as a safe and sustainable travel destination on the global stage.
