In recent years, our country has become a key destination for international productions, taking part in major projects like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, La Reina del Sur, and Paddington in Peru.
One of the main reasons is the good connectivity. Jorge Chávez International Airport offers direct flights from several important cities around the world, making it easy for film crews and actors to arrive. Additionally, some regional airports offer national and international connections, helping avoid long road trips to reach remote filming locations.
Moreover, the country’s roads connect the coast, highlands, and jungle, making land transportation convenient. Places like the Ica deserts or the Andes mountains are easily accessible. Local companies also offer bus and van rentals with drivers who are familiar with filming routes.
Internet and mobile networks are not an issue either. Major cities and tourist areas have solid 4G and 5G coverage, and Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels, production offices, and rental properties.
When it comes to logistics, shipping equipment and supplies is possible through air and sea transport. Also, since April 30, 2024, the ATA Carnet has been in effect, making it easier to bring audiovisual equipment temporarily into the country.
Lastly, Promperú, through Film In Peru, works continuously to promote the country as an ideal filming location. They provide support with institutional coordination, visa processes, filming permits, and drone usage.
