Qelqanqa: A day of school support at more than 3,900 meters above sea level

Qelqanqa is a highland Andean community located 25 kilometers north of Ollantaytambo and 90 kilometers northeast of Cusco. Its distance from modern population centers and poor access roads have made the arrival of modern amenities to this community nearly impossible. The local educational institution, number 50621, situated at over 3,900 meters above sea level, was particularly affected, lacking basic and modern educational resources.

Recognizing this precarious situation, a team from TreXperience, in representation of CEO Mr. Juan Carlos Coronel, visited the community on May 27, 2026, bringing joy and support to the local children. During the visit, the children performed a brief musical presentation, and TreXperience distributed school supplies, including notebooks, pens, writing books, modeling clay, USB drives, laptops, and printers.

In gratitude, the children presented the team with bags of native potatoes, which are the main agricultural product of the area. In this form, TreXperience reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of the Andean children every year.

Patapallpa children and an unforgettable educational visit to Cusco

Education gives children more than knowledge; it gives them the freedom to imagine, grow, and choose their own path. One of TreXperience's social missions is to create opportunities and enriching experiences for children in rural areas, particularly those in remote parts of Cusco like Patapallpa. This High Andean community is situated 117 kilometers southwest of Cusco in the Ocogante zone of the Quispicanchi province.

Due to its remoteness and challenging access, TreXperience initiated a special day on December 13, 2024. A team led by the agency’s co-founder, Ms. Priscila Coronel, took the children from Patapallpa on a guided tour of Cusco and its surroundings, aiming to bridge the physical distance between their community and the Inca capital.

The day was filled with joy and learning as the Patapallpa children visited significant sites such as the Plaza de Armas, the facade of the cathedral of Cusco, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuamán, and the Cochahuasi zoo, which features Andean animals. They were eager to learn and asked many questions, demonstrating their interest in their culture.

The day concluded with cherished memories, valuable lessons, and mutual appreciation as both the children and the agency celebrated the rich cultural diversity surrounding them.

Cachiccata School has an upgraded library and new desktops with internet access

Books are eternal, and the teachings they hold travel from mind to mind. What better way for them to also move from hand to hand, from library to library, always reaching new minds eager to learn? The TreXperience team recognized this when they first visited the Cachiccata community in 2019. They were pleasantly surprised by the children's curiosity and eagerness to learn. As a result, the team returned to the community with several exciting surprises.

The Cachiccata community is located 75 kilometers northeast of Cusco and just 3.5 kilometers from Ollantaytambo. Despite its proximity to the famous Cachicata quarries and the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, the community does not receive enough income to modernize its school. Understanding this need, the TreXperience team, led by CEO Mr. Juan Carlos Coronel, updated the school library with donated educational books that were in good condition; the community libraries.

The help didn’t stop there; the team also delivered modern computers with direct internet access. The children were able to try them out from day one. This unforgettable day concluded with the distribution of toys for the younger children and fun games, allowing the TreXperience team to connect more deeply with the future of the community: its children.
