Every year, Travel and Leisure (T+L) conducts the World's Best Awards survey, where readers evaluate global travel experiences. With a score of 87.47, Cusco topped the list for Central and South America.
More than 186,000 people participated in the survey, casting over 700,000 votes. This is the second consecutive year Cusco has received this recognition. Peru's capital, Lima, ranked fourth, moving up four spots from last year.
The magazine highlights Imperial City's rich offerings, from its exquisite food, like roast guinea pig (cuy), to its Inca temples, the Inca Trail, and proximity to Machu Picchu. Readers praised the city for its impressive history and culture.

PromPerú and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism have successfully promoted Cusco, achieving a 3% increase in tourists at Velasco Astete International Airport. The United States leads the visits, followed by Chile and France, all attracted by the region's culture, nature, and adventure.
