The next long holiday in Peru, on October 7 and 8, will allow about 956,000 people to travel across the country, according to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León Chempén. It is expected that these trips will bring around 110 million dollars to the economy. The minister said this holiday will not only boost tourism but also help many regions that depend on it.

The average spending per tourist during this holiday will be 430 soles, according to a study by Mincetur. Most of this money will be used for transport, food, places to stay, and fun activities. Travelers are expected to stay for about four nights. 

The main reasons for traveling will be split between having fun (48.8%) and visiting family and friends (47.7%).

Lima will be the main source of tourists, with 37.2% of all trips. Good weather and closeness to destinations will be important when picking places to visit. The most visited regions will be Lima, Cusco, La Libertad, Arequipa, Áncash, and Ica, which together will get 72.2% of all trips during the holiday.

For transport, most people (66.5%) will travel by bus. Most tourists will plan their trips on their own, without using travel packages. About 60.4% of travelers will stay with family or friends, while others will use their own cars or fly by plane to get to their destinations.
