Super Sacred Valley Tour Full day
Super Sacred Valley tour starts in Cusco city around 8:00am. First of all we will drive to the Sacred Valley passing through the animal sanctuary of Cotahuasi where we can see Pumas, Condors, Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and Guanacos. It’s then another 30 minutes to Pisaq, where we visit the archeological site and the local market. After expending time in the handicraft market we will continue along the Sacred Valley until Ollantaytambo – “The Last Living Inca City”; visit the place, and have lunch in the surroundings with beautiful panoramic views. finally after lunch we will drive to Maras, Salineras, and Moray. Arriving to Cusco around 6 pm.
PISAQ MARKET & ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE
Fir of all we will Drive from Cusco on to the Sacred Valley, we will stop in Cochausi while we enjoy while we enjoy the Llamas, alpacas, and also the Condor.
Pisaq is a famous Inca city divided in 2:
The Archeological site located on top of the mountain, safe, secured, therefore away from the enemies and floodings. Here we will see the largest Incan cemetery in Cusco even more all of them located in a steep slope.
Pisaq city is located at banks of the Urubamba River, famous because of the largest handicraft market in the region of Cusco. We will be able to purchase their hand-made souvenirs.
Located at 3,500 meters (11,500 ft.) compound by 4 circular terraces each of them has its own irrigation system. It was the “greenhouse of the Incas”, used for the agricultural experimentation, adaptation of different crops due to the huge difference between each terrace enabling to get different micro climates as a result get different product in only one place.
The Salieneras has been in this places since pre-Inca times. Due to the location in an impossible steep mountain slope, this spectacular place is going to amaze everybody who goes to visit; the villager of Maras harvest the sold in more than 3000 thousand ponds using the same technology of their ancestor did. The process takes about a month placing the salty water every day to the pools to later be evaporated until it gets about 10 cm high to be harvested and sent to the local markets.
Finally we will be visiting another astonishing archeological site considered “The Last Living Inca City”, “world capital of native American” as a result of the Local people still living the way the Incas did, also Ollantaytambo was scenery of the Battle of Ollantaytambo in 1536 . A city that has maintain almost all history and buildings intact; using their same customs, same Inca streets, same doorways and even the water channel are running since the Inca times, this is probably one of the last places in our country that keeps all Inca Traditions.
